Programs to Make Beats
There are many programs to make beats available today. Only a couple are worthwhile in my opinion, but I will break down a few of them and tell you the advantages and disadvantages.
- DubTurbo
As I have mentioned before, I believe this is the top beat maker software to use. It’s the newest out there so they made sure to compare other beat programs and create the void that is missing with the others. One main advantage to this program is that you do not have to be online to work the program. You can just download it onto your PC or laptop and no matter where you are at, you can just turn on your computer and start working.
- Sonic Producer
Sonic Producer is a pretty decent online beat maker. It functions through your internet connection . The music maker uses the software through the web browser. It is the newest application in the online beat making scene. Sonic Producer has a music sequencer with sixteen tracks. However, if you’re familiar with console software, then you’ll realize the lack of functions is too limited or too simple for your liking. For example, you cannot add vocal tracks or use VST plug-ins. Sonic Producer is also less than $30 bucks as well.

- FL Studio
This is a photo-realistic mixing-board interface, with small, unlabeled icons and burdened with a confusing file browser, makes the learning curve steeper than it should be. Once you learn this program, you can start making music in no time. The Fruityslicer makes short work of chopping up breaks, and the simple step-based drum machine lets you create your own. You can bind FL Studio to other programs via VSTi and DXi plug-ins. A full selection of software instruments is included so you can start playing immediately. All the usual suspects are there, from vintage, buzzy, analog imitators to wacky sound effects and generic voice samples.
If you’re a beginner, I personally would not recommend using this program. If you can master it, then great! You will be able to make great music. But honestly, I can make the same type of tracks using DubTurbo easily. For example, below are some things other people have said about the complexity..
